Polywood® shutters are not only a completely recyclable shutter, but they are also made of up to 20% recycled Polywood content. No other shutter company in New York City – or even in the States – does that.
Sunburst supports green products, designs, and buildings. We aim for reusing any and all materials whenever possible. We recycle water that cools down parts when they come out of ovens. We reuse packaging materials. We reuse shutter fragments – or regrind them and recycle them into new shutters. We end up recycling hundreds of tons of materials each year.
When we prepare our window treatments to be transported to your residence for installation, we insert reusable corner pieces on the louvers’ edges and use minimal cardboard to pack up the shutters.
The patented paint finishes we apply to your plantation shutters are environmentally safe – and are even below the normal volatile organic compound (VOC) emissions allowed. In our manufacturing method, none of our paints emit fumes. We mean it when we claim our paints are safe.
Polywood Shutters do not emit harmful gasses – so you and your household can breathe easily and savor your window treatments.
The Only Shutter Recycling Program in New York City, NY
If you ever desire to switch out your window treatment styles, we provide a shutter recycling program in New York City to keep Polywood shutters out of landfills. All you have to do is take down the shutters yourself, and contact our store manager at 631-246-3930 to schedule a pick-up. We will pick up your shutters and reuse them in one form or another in future Polywood shutters. This is the case for Polywood shutters only—we are not equipped to recycle other shutter brands.
